Rules and Regulations for Officer Candidates for year 2016-2017
The following has been edited or adapted from the International Officer Candidate Information Packet
Ten Chapter Officers will be elected during the 2016-2017 Election:
President
Vice President
Secretary
Treasurer
Vice President of Scholarship
Vice President of Service
Vice President of Leadership – Completion
Vice President of Fellowship
Vice President of Publicity – Communication – Membership Vice President of Hallmarks
In order to cast a vote a student must have a Phi Theta Kappa Member I.D.
Prior to Elections
A candidate’s application must be received on or before the deadline: March 23, 2016.
A candidate is not permitted to campaign or distribute campaign materials, letters, e-mail messages, status updates, etc. prior to March 14, 2016.

Campaigning for Chapter Office
The official web election period will run from April 3, 2016 to April 9, 2016.
You may not use our mailing list to contact local chapter members without our consent. No campaign materials may be posted on school property.

Campaign Speech
- It is expected the content of the speech will be the work of the candidate; however, each candidate is encouraged to seek assistance from fellow members, advisors and instructors.
- All speeches are limited to TWO minutes and are strictly timed; time begins with the candidate’s first utterance. Candidates will not be allowed to continue after two minutes. Candidates should remember to allow for audience reactions (applause, laughter, etc.) when practicing the timing of their speeches.
- Use of props or audio/visual is prohibited.
- Each current Chapter Officer will introduce the candidates for his/her respective office.
Question and Answer Session
There will be a Question and Answer Session so please be prepared.

To serve as a Chapter Officer is a privilege and an honor. With honor comes the responsibility to ensure the yearly success of Alpha Theta Theta. You must be committed to the duties of office and be prepared to provide the time and support needed to fulfill the responsibilities of office. As one of ten chapter officers elected each year, your participation will make a difference in the Alpha Theta Theta Chapter.
